Candle Cupcakes

Here's a perfect cupcake for birthday celebrations. Or, make an arrangement of these cupcakes to observe Chanukah.


What you need:

Reynolds® Baking Cups (Silver Foil)
1 package (18.25 ounces) yellow cake mix

1 container (16 oz.) ready-to-spread white frosting

Blue food coloring

Yellow food coloring

Pretze sticks

White chocolate

Block of 1-inch thick Styrofoam to help dry chocolate

Decorating tip: 1M, #14

Instructions:

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. 

PLACE Reynolds Baking Cups in muffin pans; set aside. 

PREPARE cake mix following package directions for 24 cupcakes.  Spoon batter into baking cups. 

BAKE following package directions (17to 23 minutes).  Cool.

TINT about 2 tablespoons frosting yellow with yellow food coloring; set aside for flames.

TINT remaining frosting blue using blue food coloring.

PIPE blue frosting onto cupcakes with decorating tip -- we used 1M.

 

MAKE candle

  1. Melt white chocolate following package directions.
  2. Dip pretzel sticks in white chocolate to cover.  Hold upside down while excess drips.  This helps to form the "wick".  
  3. Place coated pretzel sticks in Styrofoam block.  Refrigerate to speed chocolate to harden.
  4. Use decorating tip #14 to pipe yellow flames on candles.
  5. Place candles in cupcakes.
